What Makes My World Bigger?

My life is full beyond this part of it. I study in university, travel whenever I can, and have a genuine fascination with people, art, culture and the inner workings of the mind.

I love trying things I haven’t tried before. It might be a new sport, a theatre production I know nothing about, a musical genre I’ve never properly listened to, or a city I have never seen. I don’t need to love everything I try, for me part of the pleasure is simply discovering what is out there. I’m drawn to experiences that expand my world, whether that means going diving, finding an exhibition I can’t stop thinking about, or ending up in a conversation that unexpectedly changes my perspective.

My curiosity also has a more analytical side. I follow politics selectively when I have the mental space to give it proper attention, and I’m genuinely interested in how technology is changing the world. I enjoy following developments in IT, discussing where they might lead us, and hearing perspectives different from my own. More recently I’ve developed a growing interest in finance and investing, it is a new world for me and one I’m enjoying learning to understand.

I also have a soft spot for animals, and supporting shelters financially is something close to my heart. From time to time, I volunteer in other ways too: joining local initiatives to care for shared public spaces or supporting programmes that bring a little more comfort into the lives of elderly people.

I’m drawn to simple and practical forms of kindness. I don’t believe every good gesture needs to be grand or life-changing to matter. Sometimes making one person’s day a little brighter, helping a place feel a little more cared for or giving something back to the community around you is enough. For me, it is simply a way of staying connected to the world beyond my own life.
